At Robin Pope Safaris’ John’s Camp, a new team joined us and we were delighted to welcome Sir Richard Branson, along with some of his family and friends. Tuck into this great report by Wilf Evans, one of a group of young explorers including Will Jones, Caspar Raworth, Max Meyrick, Jack Burnand, Rafa Teniente, and Jack Cleverly, who have so far raised over £5,000 for Zambezi Elephant Fund – they walked the Charara/Makuti/Nyakasanga sections of the ZEF Trans-Zambezi Walk for Wild Expedition...
The Trans-Zambezi Walk for Wild is well underway!
23rd June 2023
On June 6th, a cool Zambezi morning, a small team from Natural Capital set out on the southern boundary of the Rifa concession in northern Zimbabwe to traverse the area for three days... this heralded the beginning of ZEF's inaugural Trans-Zambezi Walk for Wild Expedition.
Could this be a perfect way to showcase the Zambezi Valley?
26th May 2023
Seeing the world’s largest land mammal roam free in the heart of the Zambezi Valley in Zimbabwe is a unique privilege – and, for conservation organisations such as Zambezi Elephant Fund and its supporters, always a poignant reminder of just how critical it is to continue to protect elephants, other wildlife and their habitats in one of the world’s most important biodiverse landscapes.
Your chance to own a piece of zambezi valley artwork!
24th May 2023
Renowned Zimbabwean artist, and Zambezi Valley enthusiast, Will Maberly, has very generously agreed to donate 100% of the proceeds from the auction sale of his oil and ink piece entitled "Where the Dust Settles" to Zambezi Elephant Fund.
2022. A celebration of work for the wild.
29th December 2022
It's traditional to reflect on the setting sun of a year just gone. In our case, we look at what was achieved, what may have been done better, what impact was made – and what the future might look like for elephants with everything we’ve learned along the way.
It’s time to double the impact
20th December 2022
It’s been a busy year for Zambezi Elephant Fund, with new projects starting up. Next year, we’re eager to see each of these projects grow, and continue to flourish, especially the human-wildlife coexistence initiative…
How can we ever thank them?
16th December 2022
When an elephant matriarch can pass unhindered with her herd to the waterhole, when a snare is decommissioned from its deadly intent, when a ranger can comfortably walk for miles in sturdy boots, when an aircraft can fly and gather quick and critical information…
A great big thank you
13th December 2022
It's the end of another year! At this time, we think of the incredible people and organisations out there who support the work we do throughout the year with no other reason than a shared love of elephants.
Looking after the wild on #givingtuesday
29th November 2022
For the next 24 hours, we’re raising funds for “Chengeta Musango”, which, translated from the local Shona language, means “Look after the wild”.
Show some elephant love!
22nd November 2023
It's that time of the year, again, when we think of giving! Why not give a gift that does the world of good, too? We invite you to shop on our ZEFMerch online store through the Redbubble platform. There's plenty of choice! ]

Co-existence. Not beyond our wildest dreams
5th April 2022
Blurb: Imagine having your only source of food for the year ahead destroyed overnight by elephants, buffalos or even a troop of baboons. Think how you might feel if your goats or cattle were killed by a lion, or a loved one injured by a crocodile or killed by an elephant. Human Wildlife Conflict (HWC) is not an easy subject from any viewpoint – it can mean loss of life and livelihoods, it rouses fear or anger, and sometimes wildlife is killed in defence or retaliation.

Protect elephants for the price of a daily cup of coffee
8th March 2022
What can $30 a month buy? In some places in the world, just six coffees! In Zimbabwe, it can buy vital in-field ranger supplies

40 Years of Conservation Courage
18th December 2021
Although ZamSoc has evolved from its initial focus on advocacy for the protection of wildlife and ecology and is now also a fully active on-the-ground implementer, there is still little appreciation for just how much this small, unassuming entity has achieved.

Your monthly gifts make a difference every day
30th April 2021
In the beautiful mid-lower Zambezi Valley where you find ZEF’s heart centre of Mana Pools, we have experienced the devastation of elephant losses from poaching, but also the immense satisfaction of helping to reverse poaching numbers. We need your help to keep losses to a minimum.

Following a year that’s been tougher than most for all of us,

Building Remarkable Resilience And Innovation In The Zambezi Valley
19th November 2020
ZEF’s mission has always been to protect the elephants of the Zambezi Valley and the landscapes they depend on. And as we continue with this objective, we must adapt to an ever-changing scenario of threats and needs. With anti-poaching operations delivering a reduction in ivory trade, the challenge of our time has shifted to the preservation of the habitats that sustain elephants and other wildlife.
